Q1: What touched you as a child that set you on the environmental path?
RFK: I was interested in the environment from when I was a little kid.

Q2: That's surprising, considering it's not the first thing most children think of.
RFK: I was raised in the country, and my mother says that I was interested in it from when I was born. When I was 8 years old I wrote my uncle, who was then in the White House, and there was pollution along K Street in Washington D.C., because there was a number of cement factories there. To me, the pollution seemed like kind of a theft, that somebody could steal the air from their neighbors and pollute it and make people sick. Seemed like a theft to me.
