Q1: What do you think about the difference of a sense of beauty between Japanese and American women?
MN: A sense of beauty for Japanese women is quite unique and different compared to women in foreign countries. Kawaii (lovely, cute in Japanese) is something that Japanese women believe in and try to become. In order to keep being lovely and cute, Japanese women tend to sustain their youth and try to be seen as a dependent woman. Other Asian culture might have similarity to Japanese, but Japanese sense of beauty still has a gap from women in the world. However, I believe that women's activity of seeking and expressing beauty is not that different in any countries. The form of expression is just different.
