Q1: So this is a very similar ... seems to me, a very similar character in some ways to the woman in "Huff"–you seem to be good at playing these almost tragic characters who seem to be at a cross-roads in their lives –what is the attraction?
BD: What does that say about me? I don't know. Dark, deep things ... I think I have always been attracted to complex characters because I started out in the theatre playing Chekhov, and playing Tennessee Williams, and playing the playwrights who are so challenging and really delve deep, and I feel so fortunate that later in my life now –I am certainly past the mid-point, and I am just being given more opportunities to play these people. And I think life experience helps and gives you courage to sort of ... I think there is a power that I have in my acting that I am just so appreciative of, that allows me a liberation.
Q2: Do you identify with these women?
BD: Identify with them –I like to think of it as living a vicario...
