Q1: Why do you think your character did what he did?
GB: It's an immensely complex question that the film poses, the nature of the choices we make as individuals in our lives, and the mostly unforeseen consequences of those decisions. What for these men is a practical, logical solution to a horrific incident that they feel they really had no control over becomes, as the story unravels, becomes a moral decision that affects not just them, but their community and the aboriginal community also. From their point of view it is a practical solution. They are two days from the nearest police station. By the time they get back to the police station to report it, what is going to happen to the body? If the water can keep the body fresh, perhaps that is the best way of preserving her until the police actually arrive.
