Q1: So were you familiar with the Harvey Milk story prior to this project?
EH: I wasn't, I found out about the film, or about Harvey Milk, when I first read the script. And when I first read the script, I mean I knew nothing about San Francisco, I thought that Castro, I thought that was the whale in Pinocchio (laughter) that goes, wasn't that...

EH: Monstro, yeah! I was literally reading it, and I was like, is this like a fantasy movie, I just didn't know. I've come a long way since then, but I think that this film is going to give a whole new generation who think that the Castro's the whale from Pinocchio, (laughter) a chance to learn about it.
