Q1: Mondigliani's father is left with nothing in the movie, can you relate to that story?
AG: He lost his money, but they came to claim his house, but there is an ancient Jewish law that says anything that is on a pregnant woman's bed you can keep. That's why they piled everything on the bed.

Q2: Does your own life leaving Cuba relate to that?
AG: No, that's different. We left Cuba to pursue freedom. At that point everything in Cuba had been nationalized and was then owned by the state. Any business you owned or savings you might have had was state property all of a sudden. After that it was really about being someplace where you could be free to speak and to pursue your dreams.

Q3: How did that come about?
AG: We left Cuba in mid 1961 and the revolution had already happened. There was a law that also took over children and gave them to the state. They called it education, but it was really indoctrination so you lost your rights to your children and how they are educated and ...
